7I often get asked about my computing setup -- so I created this page to link it
8whenever. Also because I've seen it on other sites, and I don't want to miss
 9out.

11## hardware
12
13- **Asus ROG Flow X13 (2021)**: 13.4" 4K, Ryzen 9 5900HS, 32GB RAM, 1TB
14SSD, Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q. Even more future proof than the Envy --
15evidently. Runs Linux quite well; not sure about BSD.
16
17- **HP Envy 13 (2017)**: 13.3" FHD, i5 8250u, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. A
18comfy, fairly future-proof machine that happens to support Linux/BSD
19incredibly well out-of-the-box -- and macOS -- which happens to be what
20it currently runs via OpenCore.
21
22- **Ferricy**: 34-key wireless split keyboard designed by me, based on
23 the Ferris Sweep. See: https://github.com/icyphox/ferricy
24
25- **Logitech Ergo M575**: Wireless ergonomic thumb trackball mouse.
26
27- **realme Buds Q2**: Truly wireless earphones, with ANC. Picked them up
28for 2500 INR (≈33 USD).
29
30- **iPhone 13 mini**: The only actually small phone in the market.
31
32- **Kindle KT4**: Jailbroken using [WatchThis](https://www.mobileread.com/forums/showthread.php?t=346037)
33 and running KOReader.
34
35### old hardware (no longer in active use)
36
37- **Ducky One 2 SF**: 65% mechanical keyboard, Cherry MX Speed Silver
38switches and blank DSA keycaps. I've written about it in detail
39[here](/blog/ducky-one-2).
40
41- **Lotus58**: Split-ortho mechanical keyboard, Gazzew Boba LT switches.
42
43## software
44
45- **NixOS**: Had to switch to a Linux distribution for work, and this
46seemed liked the least-shit choice. I can't claim I understand even half
47of Nix (the language), but it gets the job done.
48
49- **KDE Plasma**: cwm -- and X11 in general -- weren't playing too
50 nicely with mixed-DPI and mixed aspect ratio multi-monitor setups. And
51 KDE is quite nice these days.
52
53- **tmux**: Most of my actual window management happens here. I usually have
543 - 4 workspaces -- general throwaway terminals, work, music and IRC. It also
55handles scrollback for me, so that's nice.
56
57And the [dotfiles](https://github.com/icyphox/dotfiles) for all software
58mentioned, and more. You might be interested in the `old` branch for my
59pre-NixOS configs.
