7I often get asked about my computing setup -- so I created this page to link it
8whenever. Also because I've seen it on other sites, and I don't want to miss
9out.

11## hardware
12
13**Asus ROG Flow X13 (2021)**: 13.4" 4K, Ryzen 9 5900HS, 32GB RAM, 1TB
14SSD, Nvidia GTX 1650 Max-Q. Even more future proof than the Envy --
15evidently. Runs Linux quite well; not sure about BSD.
16
17![lotus58 keyboard](https://x.icyphox.sh/wsHGX.jpg)
18**Lotus58**: Split-ortho mechanical keyboard, Gazzew Boba LT switches.
19
20**Logitech M221**: An el cheapo wireless mouse that mouses just enough.
21
22**realme Buds Q2**: Truly wireless earphones, with ANC. Picked them up
23for 2500 INR (≈33 USD).
24
25**iPhone 13 mini**: The only actually small phone in the market (right
26now).
27
28### old hardware (no longer in active use)
29
30**HP Envy 13 (2017)** : 13.3" FHD, i5 8250u, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD. A
31comfy, fairly future-proof machine that happens to support Linux/BSD
32incredibly well out-of-the-box.
33
34**Ducky One 2 SF** : 65% mechanical keyboard, Cherry MX Speed Silver
35switches and blank DSA keycaps. I've written about it in detail
36[here](/blog/ducky-one-2).
37
38
39## software
40
41**NixOS**: Had to switch to a Linux distribution for work, and this
42seemed liked the least-shit choice. I can't claim I understand even half
43of Nix (the language), but it gets the job done.
44
45**cwm**: The Calm Window Manager. The best out-of-the-box experience you can
46get in a window manager. Period.
47
48**tmux**: Most of my actual window management happens here. I usually have
493 - 4 workspaces -- general throwaway terminals, work, music and IRC. It also
50handles scrollback for me, so that's nice.
51
52**weechat**: IRC client that's infinitely riceable.
53
54And the [dotfiles](https://github.com/icyphox/dotfiles) for all software
55mentioned, and more. You might be interested in the `old` branch for my
56pre-NixOS configs.
